About Me
Yoga, in different forms, has been a part of my life for nearly 20 years. I have practiced strong physical asana styles as well as styles that might be described as slow and / or quiet. Each has something to offer and has taught me a lot. I finally took the plunge and trained as a yoga teacher, qualifying in 2021. Yoga is a journey and whilst I have learnt a lot there is always more to discover, including from my students.
I am also a HCPC registered clinical psychologist. This means I have trained for over 12 years and have a lot of experience working with a range of mental health difficulties. I currently work in the NHS with birthing people to support their journey into motherhood. Often this involves thinking about their fertility, birth and the health of their baby, or indeed the loss of their baby.
I see many overlaps between yoga and psychology and how they can help individuals manage their emotions. Working with trauma in my clinical work has shown me the importance of the breath and body. I have therefore also trained to offer trauma informed yoga.
