Values
Curiousity Compassion and Empowerment
Within both yoga and therapy, I place emphasis on these values.
Can we build or bring curiosity into our lives? Can we notice, truly notice, how we are feeling - either physically or emotionally - and allow that to be? I often find the beginnings of change require this, or least some steps towards it. As until we 'know' these things, or are more aware of them, we cannot respond in a meaningful way.

This leads to the second value of compassion. Whatever we notice through our curiosity is OK. Can we be kind enough to ourselves to allow these feelings? However potentially uncomfortable they might be. No feeling is wrong. Instead they offers us insight and the beginnings of understanding.

Finally, by empowerment I mean building a sense of autonomy over how you act. Depending on what feelings you notice, a certain response is likely to be more appropriate (e.g. if you are tired, can you allow yourself to rest or if you notice a relationship with someone often brings you unease, can you say no to them sometimes?).

Within a yoga practice, I therefore offer you the space to explore these components and find some empowerment. Use your time as you need.

And within therapy, we take time together to explore and encourage these values and discover opportunities for you to make changes in your life.

These values are not always easy to follow, but I am here to offer a helping hand should you wish to journey with me.
